Miquèu Montanaro & Vasilis Zlatanos (FR/GR)

A mesmerizing encounter of two distinct musical universes: Miquèu Montanaro, the French master of Provençal folklore and boundary-pushing world music, joins forces with Vasilis Zlatanos, the acclaimed Greek composer and sound designer known for his immersive electroacoustic soundscapes.

Their joint concert is an extraordinary journey where the organic resonance of traditional Provençal instruments—pipes, galoubet-tambourin, and accordion—meets the ambient textures of experimental electronics, jazz, and cinematic sound design. Through the live dialogue between ancient melodies and modern electronic processing, they construct a soundscape that is both deeply meditative and intensely dynamic.

Miquèu Montanaro (FR)

Miquèu Montanaro is a French composer, multi-instrumentalist, and one of the most compelling pioneers of contemporary folklore. With a discography of over 40 albums, he masterfully bridges seemingly distant musical genres: Provençal traditional music, jazz, contemporary improvisation, and world music.

His primary instrument is the traditional Provençal galoubet-tambourin (a three-holed pipe played with one hand while beating a drum with the other), but in performance, he utilizes over twenty instruments—including rare flutes, saxophone, and accordion—creating a uniquely meditative yet dynamic soundscape.

Montanaro’s music serves as a genuine bridge between cultures. He is the founder of numerous international initiatives (such as the Vents d’Est project, which fuses Central-Eastern European and Mediterranean roots) and collaborates regularly with Hungarian, Italian, Chinese, African, jazz, and contemporary artists worldwide.

Vasilis Zlatanos (GR)

Vasilis Zlatanos is a Greek composer, musician, and sound designer working across film, theatre, dance, and live performance. His signature approach seamlessly fuses acoustic instrumentations with ambient electroacoustic elements and modern electronic sound design.

Through his solo work and international collaborations, he masterfully blends traditional and experimental textures with electronic soundscapes. He regularly collaborates with renowned international artists (including Miquèu Montanaro on projects such as F.R.E.W – Folk Roots Electro and MAR).
