Mike Parker Quartet is the newest project by the native New York bassist and composer. Parker’s music has been described by critics as ‘an ingenious synthesis of all musical genres’ and his compositions draw on such wide-ranging influences as Charles Mingus, Radiohead, Maurice Ravel, The Bad Plus, Led Zeppelin, John Coltrane, David Bowie and hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest just to name a few.
Parker will be joined by long-time collaborator Slawek Pezda on tenor saxophone and 2 of Poland’s most exciting young musicians; Bartek Leśniak on piano and Piotr Przewoźniak on drums, who spent 2022 winning nearly every jazz contest in the country. The quartet continues in the tradition of Parker’s previous projects, playing intense and energetic live shows, but with some new unique personalites, some new songs, and maybe some electronics!
