Adela Mede & Štefan Szabó (SK)

Adela Mede and Štefan Szabó return to the deepest roots of Hungarian folk songs and the purest moments of joint creation. Their collaborative album, Dalok (released on 42far), was never originally intended as a studio record; rather, it grew out of the shared Slovak-Hungarian identity of two musicians and their profound love for folklore.

For about a year, they met almost weekly to sing and shape Hungarian folk songs uncovered from old vinyl records, online archives, or the depths of their own memories. Although a circle of friends and guest musicians contributed to the album’s recording, on this special evening they will present the material in its most elemental and stripped-down form: featuring solely the two core creators on stage.

Throughout the performance, deep respect for preserving traditional melodies meets an exploratory, experimental approach, unique instrumentation, and personal intimacy. An evening where tradition and sonic curiosity resonate together in a single shared space.
